MM2H Program is open to every eligible foreign individual from sovereign countries that has diplomatic relations with Malaysia.
General Requirements
Good Conduct
A clean criminal record from your home country (Certificate of Good Conduct).
Property Purchase
Purchase a property and hold it for at least 10 years. Selling earlier requires canceling the visa or upgrading to a higher-value property.
Minimum Stay
Applicants under 50 years old must stay in Malaysia for a cumulative total of at least 90 days annually. The 90 days can be met by the main applicant and/or spouse and dependants. There is no minimum stay requirement for participants aged 50 and above.
Age
Minimum age for applying is 21 years old for SEZ/SFZ categories and 25 years old for all other categories.
Dependents
Spouses, biological or adopted children, stepchildren, parents, parents-in-law, and disabled children of any age. Children can remain as dependents until they are 34 years old, provided they are unmarried and not employed in Malaysia.

Application Process
We streamline the MM2H application process into five simple steps. From initial document verification to final visa endorsement, Wise Man manages the paperwork and government liaison so you can focus on planning your new chapter in Malaysia.
STEP 1
Consultation & Eligibility Check
We assess your profile, help you select the right MM2H tier (Platinum, Gold, Silver, or SEZ/SFZ), and compile the initial checklist.
STEP 2
Document Preparation & Submission
Our team assists in gathering and verifying all required documents (Certificate of Good Conduct, proof of funds, etc) before your licensed agent submits the application to the One Stop Centre MM2H (OSC MM2H) at the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC).
STEP 3
Conditional Approval Letter (AP)
Once MOTAC approves your application, a Conditional Approval Letter is issued through your agent. You then have 90 days to complete the local requirements.
STEP 4
Arrival & Local Compliance
Upon arrival in Malaysia, we assist you with opening a local bank account, placing the fixed deposit, medical checkups, and purchasing medical insurance.
STEP 5
Visa Endorsement
Final submission of proof of compliance to the ministry to collect your multi-entry MM2H visa pass.
MM2H Frequently Asked Questions
Can I apply for MM2H by myself?
No. New MM2H applications must be submitted through an MM2H company licensed by Malaysia's Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC). Wise Man (MM2H) Sdn Bhd is licensed under licence no. MM2H935.
Who is eligible, and what is the minimum age?
MM2H is open to foreign nationals from countries with diplomatic relations with Malaysia. The main applicant must be at least 25 for the Silver, Gold and Platinum categories, or at least 21 for the SEZ/SFZ category (Forest City).
What documents do I need to apply for MM2H?
MOTAC's official application checklist asks for: the MM2H immigration pass application form; a copy of the passport biodata page of the main applicant and of each dependant; proof of family relationship for dependants; and a Letter of Good Conduct (police certificate) for the main applicant and every dependant aged 18 or over, issued by your country of origin or country of residence no more than 6 months before the application is submitted. All documents must be in English (or translated into English) and certified as MOTAC requires; we advise you on translation and certification. MOTAC may ask for other documents if needed, and only complete applications are accepted. We check every document with you before submission.
How much money do I need?
You need a fixed deposit in a licensed Malaysian bank: USD 150,000 (Silver), USD 500,000 (Gold), USD 1,000,000 (Platinum), or USD 65,000 (SEZ/SFZ, applicants aged 21–49) / USD 32,000 (SEZ/SFZ, applicants aged 50+). You must also buy a residential property worth at least RM 600,000 (Silver), RM 1,000,000 (Gold) or RM 2,000,000 (Platinum). For SEZ/SFZ, the property must be in Forest City, Johor.
Can I withdraw part of my fixed deposit?
Yes. After approval, you may withdraw up to 50% of the fixed deposit to buy a residence, or for education, medical or tourism expenses in Malaysia.
What are the government fees?
A one-off participation fee per main applicant: RM 1,000 (Silver and SEZ/SFZ), RM 3,000 (Gold) or RM 200,000 (Platinum). There are no participation fees for dependants. A government processing fee of RM 5,000 per main applicant and RM 2,500 per dependant also applies, plus pass and visa fees on endorsement.
Do I have to live in Malaysia for part of the year?
If you are under 50, you (and/or your spouse and dependants) must spend at least 90 days in total in Malaysia each year. There is no minimum stay for participants aged 50 and above.
Which family members can I bring?
Your spouse; children under 21 (biological, step or adopted); children aged 21–34 who are single and not employed in Malaysia; medically certified disabled children of any age; and your parents and/or parents-in-law. Platinum participants may also bring a foreign domestic helper.
Can I work or run a business on MM2H?
Only Platinum participants may carry out business, investment and employment activities. Silver, Gold and SEZ/SFZ participants may not work or run a business on the MM2H pass; the relevant separate pass must be applied for.
Are there tax benefits?
Yes. MM2H participants receive tax exemption on foreign funds or income, such as their fixed deposit. Take independent tax advice for your personal situation.
What happens after my application is approved?
A conditional approval letter is issued through your agent. Within 90 days you then need to: open your fixed deposit; buy health insurance (for applicants aged 60 and below, with worldwide coverage); complete a medical check-up at a MOTAC-appointed panel clinic; have your personal bond form stamped by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN); and provide a valid passport. After paying the fees, your MM2H pass is endorsed in your passport. You must also buy a property: Silver, Gold and Platinum participants within 1 year after the pass is endorsed, while SEZ/SFZ participants must buy in Forest City, directly from the developer, before the pass is endorsed.
